inexpressible joy and pride

ah, updating like the plague again, and right after sien just cleared the backlog of entries too haha. and all the while, i should have been catching up on my sleep, since i felt like a total zombie wandering about school today, while my kids counted the number of times i yawned (i think they lost count).

but yesterday was an interesting day, and i couldn't resist writing about it, while irritating sien as well haha. so here goes much-gp-hated narration.

went to send my bro to acsi after church, as well as to pass the ib people their concert gifts. haha when my mum drove all the way up to the foyer, there they were, sitting like the nomadic tribe and looking forlorn and damn sad because they were locked out of their own band room. haha okay, it was funny, really.

then went for the hotel phoenix high tea (and it's not like i was trying to be tai tai, as shuj originally thought haha) with the girls. well, i was a little disappointed with the spread, it just wasn't my cup of tea. i think the only buffet i thoroughly enjoy is those with tons of raw fish and sour vinegar rice, ie. japanese food haha. then it was off to esplanade for the rest of the night.

muse was awesome stuff, i must say. okay, so maybe i've heard them all play better before, but that's why you put in 110% during practices, so that it doesn't get any worse during the actual performance (that didn't sound quite right, but you get the drift i hope).

but watching them all performing gave me a certain sense of inexpressible joy and a certain sense of pride. maybe a little sad, because i wasn't ever going to perform in such an atmosphere again. but this was the first ac concert that i was so relaxed, excluding the time when the chimes came tumbling down (wow, talk about excitement for the concert gush).

the powerful mighty horn sounds in just about every piece, ib playing ghost train in its entirety, joseph's flute solo, the wine glass part (which i finally heard), ken lim's SEXY saxophone solo, ken koh's and dorance's various solos, markky's phantom solos, the ib trombones variously blasting away (gush you were heard haha), yingda and weiting's trumpet call in feste romane... just a few moments that i took home with me from esplanade.

proud of you guys! (: now work for syf!

then while picking my bro up from acsi after the concert, i meet markky and jerel. and no markky, i've already given you a tv haha. it's just missing cable tv.

well, late now. nights.
