well, enough of the ramble. it's been a pretty fun week so far, hopefully it doesn't get worse after friday's interview (man scared outta my pants, figuratively, of course) and i really don't know what to expect. okay, i do know what to expect, it's just that the same thing has different results, so i'll just go and see. not forgetting to talk i hope.
saturday was quite a funny day haha, wanted to write about it but i erm sort of forget, since i wrote about it in my written journal. fye (that MATrix) picked me up at jurong east, and no offence, but he drove up in this black honda, wearing ultra cool black sunglasses, it just reminded me of the MATrix haha but nevermind, mat's a good driver and everyone should get a ride sometime haha. yeap, so we got rather lost looking for the school (walked routes do not go by driven routes), but after a few turns and suddenly we see the purple school which looks oddly like where we're supposed to be 15 minutes ago haha. but combined sectionals with the saxes was a lot more productive, since fye's probably the only one who can do intonation properly sigh. so after that, the final lunch at jurong point (thank goodness it wasn't banquet haha), at kfc, where shuj and i did a subway again haha, a lot more less discretely this time haha. then we packed into the car back to ac, and boy was it a fun ride haha. making fun of various bad drivers, tail gating them, commenting how the live bands playing on the radio were out of tune, haha fun stuff.
well, back to ac, and for the first time i heard safari, after weeks of ikan kekek and sunrise =p somehow, i particularly dislike this year's syf piece, and as shuj says, "it's adam gorb." not like i've ever heard any of his other pieces, but this was... yeah, you get the picture. obviously he was at the wrong safari, since the only thing you hear at singapore's night safari is the tram radio haha.
thinking back to what crystal said on saturday, and reading what she wrote. and thinking back to what we tried to trick doc lee into (haha shuj haha) but decided not to because there ain't such thing as white lies. i really see it now. and i really admire his strength. it's something i've yet to see in any other conductor. the passion, drive, perseverance, self-sacrifice. i hope all the musicians under him are recipocrating that (or should start).
monday and tuesday proved rather exciting, for the very obvious reasons. well, i think this has been one of the more satisfying syf's i've been indirectly involved in. in the end, i go by something i learnt in 050505: it doesn't really matter what you get. sure it's about school name, et cetra, et cetra. but what matters is you did your best, you improved from the last rehersal, and you reached the expectations of the most important people: yourself and the people who shared the music in the first place. so i daresay, i'm proud of you guys.
oh well, newater dreams to attend to tonight. i hope they're not wet (man that sounded really wrong, but it's markky's fault for seeing weird dream as wet dream last time -.-
jwss! acsi! acjc! acsib!
gogogo!
i almost wish i was back in syf again.
